Lower duty · more units per container · local assembly
SKD & CKD Kits
Import at a lower duty classification and assemble locally. A knocked-down kit also packs more
units into a container, which lowers your landed cost per bike.
Why importers choose kits
Lower duty classification
Knocked-down kits are classified differently from
complete bikes in many markets, so the duty rate is lower. We confirm what applies to your destination.
More units per container
Frames, wheels and components nest, so a 40HQ holds
substantially more units. Fewer containers for the same order.
Local value added
Assembling locally can create jobs and meet local-content
requirements — useful in markets with anti-dumping duties on complete bikes.
What arrives in a kit
A typical SKD shipment arrives with the frame and components fitted, the handlebar and wheels loose, and the
battery packed separately as dangerous goods. A CKD kit is broken down further. We supply the assembly
instructions and, if you need it, a video call with our technicians while your team builds the first batch.
| Kit type | What is included | Assembly effort | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| SKD (semi-knocked-down) | Frame with components fitted; handlebar and wheels loose; battery separate | Low — basic tools | First-time kit importers, quick start |
| CKD (completely-knocked-down) | Further broken down into major assemblies and parts | Medium — workshop needed | Local assembly plants, lower duty brackets |
| Battery | Shipped separately with UN38.3 report and MSDS | — | All kit shipments |
